The content of these training materials are based on the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s Equality Act 2010 Technical Guidance on Reasonable Adjustments for Disabled Pupils and can be used as a guide to how you can apply the law to your practice. The views expressed in the videos and audio files are those of individual practitioners and do not necessarily reflect the EHRC’s views. Schools should be aware that each child should be treated on a case-by-case basis with the views of each child and parent taken into account when a reasonable adjustment is being considered. Parents do have a right to pursue claims through the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal where they consider that there has been a failure to make a reasonable adjustment.
